The continuation of the More than Skin Deep Project

Updated: Jul 1, 2020

Evolve CDT is thrilled to announce the continuation of the More than Skin Deep project. Working with the Fiona Wood Foundation this training program will enhance the delivery of psychosocial care for children, young people and their families in order to improve outcomes and quality of life following a burn injury.

Within the More than Skin Deep training program there are a number of learning modules specific to different target audiences. There are:

• five modules to support staff working with children, young people and their families

• two modules for parents

• one module for school administrators, teachers, coaches and those that will be supporting children or young people on their return to the community.

The More than Skin Deep project recognises that burns are a life altering event. They cause immediate and long-term traumas to mind and body and are arguably the most painful, unique and complex injury a human can suffer.

“Every intervention after burn injury affects the scar worn for life.”

Professor Fiona Wood AM

The innovative e-learning training program with built in evaluation components, will be modelled on the first module in the training program developed in 2020.
