Project Summary
This e-learning resource targets, but is not limited to, employees in the Home and Community Care (HACC) sector. In particular the e-learning resource targets support workers employed or preparing to enter the HACC services sector, those that need assistance with language and literacy, those with English as a second language and those undertaking the Certificate III in Home and Community Care.
Â
In this e-learning resource learners are cast in the role of a support worker employed through a virtual organisation, Vale Home Care. Vale Home Care specialises in home and community care.
The Vale Home Care workplace encourages learners to complete a range of tasks that are typical of activities included in a support worker’s duty statement. Learners are assisted in completing these activities by virtual staff from Vale Home Care and a library of home and community care support documents.
Â
The content is introduced systematically throughout the resource using a variety of customised and interactive learning experiences.
Learners work through six different modules. Each module has content areas, case studies, scenario activities, quizzes and opportunities for reflection. Learners are encouraged to think about their own strengths and areas for improvement at the end of each module and using a Learning Action Plan, plan for further learning and training experiences.
