Project Summary
Keys 4 Life Online aims to assist individuals to:
understand how to comply with road safety and licensing requirements
understand safer driving as an important contributor to securing and retaining employment
make safer driving decisions
understand the relationship between gaining a driver’s licence and improving language, literacy and numeracy
develop positive road safety attitudes, and finally
gain a driver’s licence.
The Keys 4 Life Online resource consists of the following three components.
1. DVD.
2. Facilitator’s Guide.
3. Learner Journal – Behind the Wheel.
The interactive DVD has five modules with each containing an overview, content and self-correcting activities. The DVD is not text dense. It contains relevant and customised scenarios, audio, movement and content introduced in a way that enhances learning and builds confidence. An online mentor assists in orienting participants at the start of the resource and then through each of the five modules.
The Facilitator’s Guide includes all of the necessary background information, instructions, language, literacy and numeracy notes, and additional activities to be used when assisting participants using the Keys 4 Life Online resource.
Behind the Wheel is a learner journal that participants can use in conjunction with the DVD. It contains activities that consolidate the theory introduced in the DVD.
